Here is the oak bench in its current state. Glue up, edge treatment and finishing are all that is left. I apologize for the blurry pic, someone wanted to see pictures so I snapped this not really looking to see if it was a good one or not. It is, in fact, not a good one. The plywood is where the upholstered mat will be. It will either end on a third or I'll use the golden ratio thing and see what looks more gooder ;-).
Ciao

do you route out a section for the upholstery?
i guess i could have though this is a veneered top so you would see plywood. I was trying to think of how to do keep the mat from slipping around and keep coming back to velcro. not elegant but it will work.
maybe carpet tape?
or that even!
I enjoy your work. I have seen it in person down here in Seattle. An idea to keep the cushions from sliding, is to incorporate some antislip foam liner onto the bottom of the cushion. We did this for a aby changing cushion on a small Paul McCobb credenza. It worked flawlessly and our baby boy was stylin! Cheers, Brad
Hey Brad,
Thanks for the message, drop me an email as I would like to ask about the liners. Genius use for the McCobb credenza as well!
